This tool will codon optimizate genes with parameters to maximize microbial host-range. These include species-independent conserved parameters, such N-terminal codon/structural bias, and removal of internal transcriptional terminators and translational start sites. Additionally, certain species-specific parameters are included, such as removal of TTA codons, which are non-permissive in Streptomyces, and removal of codon duplexes which are non-permissive in S. cerevisiae.
